About Craftlets
Craftlets was created as a resource for quick and affordable crafts of the highest quality. Many “quick crafts” are shoddy in workmanship, and really do not deserve being called a “Craft” but maybe more like a “Pre-Schoolers Activity”.
Craftlets was created by crafters with a desire for not just quick crafts, but also high-quality crafts. To us, quick does not always mean easy, it just means it’s a project that doesn’t take days or weeks to complete.
Most of our craftlet projects posted take less than 3 hours to complete although some do take a bit longer.
All of the projects shared on the site are copyright protected. If you see a project posted, please, by all means enjoy the project by making things for your own personal use or to give, as gifts to loved ones. Put please respect the designer’s wishes and do not make projects to sell for profit unless the designer grants permission on the project page of the project in question. We take copyright infringement seriously, and as such, we will hold thieves accountable if our wishes are not followed.
Some of our projects use free patterns and project instructions from other websites, like dollhouse printables. We give credit for every project demonstrated, as well as a link back to the designers website. When this is done, designers from other sites may have different terms requiring the use of their materials. It’s up to you to read each websites terms of use before using the projects or patterns demonstrated on the site.
Remember, if you did not design it, you have NO rights at all to any pattern or design. Rights to use patterns and projects are GRANTED to you by the designer that holds the copyright. Unless a designer states you can resell for profit, then you could face legal penalties if you profit off another persons work.
I do not mean to sound harsh, but after seeing one of my own projects in a national magazine with two thieves taking credit for it, I have added this information to let others know that stealing is wrong, and we do pursue all legal remedies offered to us by State and National laws when we see our designs stolen.
Thievery and plagiarism not only harms the person breaking the law, it harms crafters everywhere because designers stop sharing their designs free of charge. I also did this. I removed every pattern I had on all of my websites, and had no intention of sharing patterns online free again. But some friendly crafting friends convinced me to not let 2 thieves prevent hundreds of honest crafters from benefiting from our knowledge.
For you honest crafters, I’d like to offer you a Thank You on behalf of designers everywhere.
For the thieves, I just want to say it’s pretty sorry that you do not have the creativity to create your own designs and instead have to steal from others. That’s pretty pathetic.
