Dollhouse Living Room Carpet

The dollhouse living room now has carpet and is complete as far as main decoration. I’ll be adding a few windows and making some dollhouse furniture for it later.
I’m very pleased with the colors in the living room. The carpet is a small piece of velvet like furniture fabric that I had in my stash of cloth that matched the wallpaper perfectly. e glare on the wallpaper isn’t a noticeable as it appears in the picture. The flash from my camera does make it look garish, but it’s really beautiful when viewed in real life.
I’ll be wallpapering the dining room and kitchen next, as well as adding ceilings and flooring. I do not want carpet in the kitchen, so I’ll probably be making polymer clay tiles for the kitchen and maybe hardwood flooring for the dining room but I have not decided for sure yet.
The dollhouse design is coming together slowly I know, but I’m wanting to take my time to make sure that I have it decorated like I would my dream home.
I hope that showing how I am using a combination of printables, scrap paneling and scrap cloth illustrates how a dollhouse can still be beautiful even if one has a very strict budget.
So far cost for the dollhouse is still less than $3.00 for the Elmer’s wood glue. I expect that it won’t go much higher than $3.00 either, because I am finding that there are so many different things one can use to decorate a dollhouse, lying around in a typical home that really glue may be all one needs to buy in order to have the dollhouse of their dreams!
For those who do not have spare lumber, access to tools or someone to help them build a dollhouse, a bookshelf with properly spaced shelves would be ideal to use as a dollhouse.
The shelves should be 9 to 14 inches high (14 would be for tall ceilings) and are at least 9 inches deep (10 or 11 is better). Thick cardboard or small pieces of thin paneling could be used to make dividers for walls easily using nothing more than a good pair of scissors.
